CHAN 2014: THE NIGERIA EUPHORIA

One would have thought that Nigerians would be less intrested in the CHAN 2014 competition still highly excited about the historic win of the African cup of Nations but No. It seems that this wonderful football nation is still looking forward to lifting another Trophy and never loosing hope in doing that. The CHAN 2014 competition started on a not too impressive note for the Super Eagles as they faced Mali in their opening Match and Mozambique in the second leg. There was  however a great sigh of relief when they played their third group match against South-Africa and winning thereby restoring the varying hope of Nigerians. The question is will the Super Eagles do it Again? Will they Bring the CHAN Cup home? Too early to decide you would agree with me as we still have the likes of Mali and Ghana to contend with. Lets wait and see what Morroco will bring to the challenge table if it will keep us standing or send us home wrapped up in our Hope.

Yes he cried and shed tears. At such a moment, only few who are in his position will not. It defines how a man feels after achieving the long awaited Victory he has been deprived of over these years. For haters, he still does not deserve it, for realist no one deserves it better but for his fans he's been robbed of it for a  very long time. I can say categorically that alot of football fans were going to loose their faith and trust in the objectivity of FIFA if C. Ronaldo had not won these highly prestigous Award. His arch rival, Lionel messi who has won it four Consecutive times will never show so much appreciation simply because the award, to him has become a norm making alot of football lovers tired because of its lack of competition. Its Ronaldo's Second Ballon D'or and it could't have come at a much perfect time. I believe as an individual not biased or pushed around by popular opinion, that CHRISTIANO RONALDO is still better, better, better than LIONEL MESSI.

Who could it have been?

In my opinion, it remains the Best organized, the most objective and the most interesting of all the CAF awards I’ve witnessed. Everyone was on point in hosting, presentation and entertainment. It met all expectations in every sense of it.

The awards kicked off at about 9pm local time with our own Sunday Oliseh and his co-host opening the floor. The first artist to present was the koko master himself as he thrilled the audience to a smooth ride through the archives of his well-known songs e.g oliver twist.  Other artist that held the audience to a spell bound entertainment were Flavour, Lira from South Africa, Lagbaja e.t.c  we also enjoyed a bit of gymnastics/ Aerobic display by Mariekeh Kach. Of course as expected, the award that sent chills and tention through the bodies of both viewers and attendees was the much awaited African Player of the year Award and fortunately or unfortunately for most Nigerians the pendulum did not swing to where they expected as Yaya Toure of Cote d' ivoire and Manchester City took home the Prestigous Award. Who do you think deserves it better. Mikel or Yaya cos we know Daddy Drogba was way far from it, at least for now.

Who wins the Glo/Caf award Tonight?

We all think we know who best deserves the Glo/Caf award for Player of the year . We sincerely hope and pray that there will be no foul play. Nigeria has waited so long for this and we deserve it.
